PHASE 2A

Phase 2A was the first of two projects in the second phase of the U.S. 95 Northwest Corridor Improvement Project. This phase increased highway capacity for the three miles between Ann Road and Durango Drive. Additionally, the project increased safety and improved regional connections.

As the northern part of Las Vegas continues to grow, the Nevada Department of Transportation studied methods to alleviate congestion as the freeway moves south toward the city center. Phase 2A of the U.S. 95 Northwest Corridor Project widened U.S. 95 to eight lanes between Ann Road and Durango Drive (about 5.5 miles), adding lanes in both directions. Additionally, this project provided new and improved freeway connections to improve regional connectivity consistent with land use planning. This project was completed ahead of schedule in September, 2015, at a cost of about $86 million.
